 Call for papers

The main goal of International Teacher Education Conference is to provide a multinational platform where the latest trends in education can be presented and discussed in a friendly environment with the aim to learn from each other. Prospective presenters are encouraged to submit proposals for papers and posters/demonstrations that offer new research or theoretical contributions. Presentations should be in Turkish, English and Arabic and should address both theoretical issues and new research findings.

Furthermore if the presenter is unable to attend the oral presentation, video presentations are available. For further information on how to submit, please refer to the Paper Submission section on our website. For paper guidelines, please refer to the Paper Guidelines section.

ITEC 2014 conference will take place on February 5-7, 2014 at the Holiday Inn Sharjah Hotel, Sharjah, United Arab Emirates.

All full papers (in all languages) will be published in an online proceedings book on ITEC web site after the conference.

We would like to invite you to share your experience and your papers with academicians and professionals.

The official languages of the conference are English and Turkish. Proposals can be sent and be presented in either language. But all submission process will be done in English. Please, submit your proposal according to the following presentation category descriptions in paper guidelines.

Assistant Professor in Arabic Studies/Comparative Literature Program in Comparative and World Literature

The Program in Comparative and World Literature at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor with an emphasis on the literatures and cultures of the Arab world. Area of specialization open. The candidate should be able to teach advanced courses in Arabic culture and literatures, as well as general education courses in global studies and comparative courses in world literature. Specializations in any of the following fields are a plus: a related literary tradition, gender, film and media studies, intellectual history, art. A Ph.D. is required at time of appointment. Successful candidates will provide evidence of an active research agenda and publication record, and a commitment to excellence in teaching. Teaching load is two courses (or equivalent) per semester. Salary is competitive. Target start date is August 16, 2014.

NATIONAL ENDOWMENT FOR THE HUMANITIES ADVANCED FELLOWSHIPS FOR RESEARCH IN TURKEY, 2014-2015

The American Research Institute in Turkey takes pleasure in inviting applications for one to three advanced fellowships made possible by support from the National Endowment for the Humanities.  The fields of study cover all periods of history in the general range of the humanities and include humanistically oriented aspects of the social sciences, prehistory, history, art, archaeology, literature, and linguistics, as well as interdisciplinary aspects of cultural history. The fellowships for research in Turkey may be held for four to twelve continuous months during 2014-2015.  Stipends in the range of $16,800 to $50,400 are available on the basis of individual proposals. The General Secretariat of King Faisal International Prize is pleased to invite you to nominate for the year 2015 (1436H.) We will explore the topic of “Transnational Feminisms and the New Middle East Insurrections.” Our Distinguished Lecturer will be Dr. Sondra Hale of the Departments of Anthropology and Gender Studies at the University of California, Los Angeles. During the day, we will host a research conference around the theme, including Dr. Hale’s Distinguished Lecture, followed by a dinner to celebrate JMEWS’s 10th anniversary.
