Scholar of Islam - Carthage College

CARTHAGE COLLEGE seeks a Scholar of Islam for a three-year term appointment beginning in the fall of 2014.  Rank and specialization open.  Aside from teaching an existing survey of Islam, the successful candidate will develop specialized courses that reflect his or her interests and expertise.  Additionally, within the context of liberal arts education, a commitment to Carthage’s intellectual and teaching mission is required. Faculty members are also expected to teach courses to fulfill general education requirements; the successful candidate will do so by offering courses that satisfy the College’s Global Heritage requirement. The College is located on the picturesque shore of Lake Michigan midway between Chicago and Milwaukee and is a focal point in the Kenosha community.
